If you’ve been searching forever for stools that are tall enough for your pub table or counter top, then you may need spectator height stools.
Odds are you didn’t even know they were a thing, or what they were called. That makes finding them pretty difficult. Maybe you tried searching for stools taller than bar stools, or extra tall bar stools.
Most people are aware of the 2 most common stools heights, which are counter height, and bar height.
A counter stool typically has a seat that is 24″ – 26″ high. It is designed to go with a 36″ high surface, which is the standard height of a kitchen counter; hence the name counter stool.
A bar stool typically has a seat that is approx 30″ high. It is designed to go with a 42″ high surface. The is the standard height of a raised bar.
A spectator stool typically has a seat that is 34″ high. It is dsigned to go with a 46″ – 48″ higher surface.
When would you need a spectator height stool? Perhaps you had an exsisting bar, and added a thick piece of stone on top. Or you had an old passthrough, that was opened up, and had a countertop added to it. Maybe there’s a space with a step down on one side, so the surface is a different height from the ground on one side vs the other. Whetever the reason, now you know what kind of stools you need.
Even though these stools are less common than other heights, you’ll still get lots of choice. There are 35 styles to choose from. Each is made in Canada, and comes in your choice of frame colour and upholstery. Both fabric & synthetic leather are available.
Note: we currently don’t have any spectator height stools on display in store, but have several stools from the same manufacturer. A few of the styles we have, are available to order in spectator height, so you can try them out for comfort, and then just order the taller version. Even if your prefered style isn’t in store, you can still test the general comfort of the brand, and inspect the build quality. We also have all the material samples in store to see.
